About the Client
The fitness influencer and creator, FitMenCook, shares 900+ easy, quick meal prep recipes that will save you time, money, and inches on your waistline—helping you to get healthy on your own terms.We like to be inspired when it comes to food.
Brief & Goal
We received a request to enhance not only the website’s performance but also its usability and overall aesthetic appeal. The site’s design was noticeably outdated, making it less appealing to modern users.
Additionally, the performance metrics highlighted significant inefficiencies, leading to slower loading times.
Coupled with these performance issues, the site’s overall usability was subpar, making navigation and user interactions cumbersome and unintuitive.
Usability
The website’s requirement for multiple Post Types meant that our approach to the project needed to be multifaceted, addressing each type with precision and adaptability.
By harnessing the capabilities of WordPress, especially its Gutenberg Block editor, and synergizing it with the flexibility of the Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), we were able to deliver an outstanding usability experience. This combination also streamlined the page-building process tailored for each specific Post Type.
To further refine the user experience, we designed several distinct templates for each post type. These templates featured varying fields and building structures. This customization ensured that users could access and utilize only the fields pertinent to their needs. Such meticulous design not only mitigated potential user confusion but also optimized page load speeds, consistently delivering performance well above industry standards.

The client approached us with a design they had ready, confident in the direction they had envisioned.
However, as we delved deeper into the integration phase of their design into a working website, certain challenges emerged. It became increasingly clear that the original design might not effectively capture and convey the brand’s essence and values they passionately stood for.
Solution
Observing this potential misalignment, we believed it was imperative to address the concern head-on. Taking a consultative approach, we initiated an open dialogue with the client, highlighting our observations.
Rather than just pointing out the discrepancies, we proposed an alternative design strategy, one that we felt would resonate more with their brand’s core objectives. This proposal was supplemented with a detailed and transparent implementation plan.
Result
Our proactive and collaborative approach was met with appreciation from the client. With their trust and go-ahead, we began the transformative journey.
The result was the creation of the FitMenCook website, a digital platform that not only stayed true to the client’s original vision but also consistently earns praise and positive feedback from its loyal and new visitors.

The introduction of the new design and project brought along a plethora of innovative features that needed to be incorporated.
To achieve the design/performance balance, we crafted a new theme that seamlessly integrated these fresh functionalities while preserving the established ones from the existing website.
But our efforts didn’t stop there. While integrating the new elements, we prioritized the website’s performance. Our team undertook targeted optimizations, leading to a significant reduction in page loading times and improved metrics scores.
As a result, users now enjoy a markedly improved experience as they browse the site and navigate between pages, reaping the benefits of both enhanced aesthetics and improved functionality.
